Increasingly, we are diagnosing patients with NMRL at an early stage - a credit to both general practitioners who send patients for lung cancer screening and national programs that increase cancer caution among general practitioners and patients. These patients have a very good chance of being cured of early NSCLC, and most of these patients also have a choice of treatment - surgery or ablative high-dose radiation therapy. Both techniques from a pooled analysis of two randomized trials yielded similar results. To achieve the best outcomes at the national level - it is necessary to intelligently select patients for surgery and radiation treatment to avoid rare side effects that can significantly affect the quality of life of these patients, or increase the risk of recurrence.

In this multidisciplinary master class, a thoracic surgeon and a radiation oncologist will discuss patient selection for their treatment modalities, agree (or not!) on how to discuss the decision to have Alternative Therapies with patients, and show how to get better outcomes for their patients.
